Statement of Faith
What We Believe
This page provides an overview of the core beliefs of our church, including the Trinity, the authority and inerrancy of Scripture, salvation through Jesus Christ, baptism, the breaking of bread, and the hope of His return. These foundational truths guide our teaching, worship, and daily lives, and we invite you to explore them further.
The Trinity
We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. This triune God created all, upholds all and governs all.
God the Father is an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He concerns Himself in the affairs of men, hearing and answering prayer. He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, continual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth. He is fully human and fully God.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is our abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide.
Inerrancy of Scripture
We believe that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man, and thus the 66 books of the Bible given to us by the Holy Spirit constitute the plenary (inspired equally in all parts) Word of God.
We believe that the Word of God is an objective, propositional revelation, verbally inspired in every word, absolutely inerrant in the original documents, infallible, and God-breathed. Further, we believe that the Word of God is completely sufficient for life, godliness and sanctification in the Person of Christ Jesus and is the means of God to accomplish His ends. His word is the infallible rule of faith and practice.
Salvation
We believe all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all of his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, assured of spending eternity with the Lord.
Baptism
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. We practice baptism by immersion. Christian baptism by immersion is the solemn and beautiful testimony of a believer testifying to his or her faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and their union with Him in death to sin and resurrection to a new life. It is also a sign of fellowship and identification with the visible Body of Christ.
Breaking of Bread
We regularly celebrate the Lord’s Supper every week according to the Scriptural guidelines found in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. We believe and teach that the Lord’s Supper is the commemoration and proclamation of His death until He comes, and should be always preceded by solemn self-examination. We also teach that, whereas the elements of Communion are only representative of the flesh and blood of Christ, participation in the Lord’s Supper is nevertheless an actual communion with the risen Christ, who indwells every believer, and so is present, fellowshipping with His people.
Return of Christ
We believe and teach the rapture, the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ before the seven-year tribulation to translate His church from this earth and, between this event and His glorious second coming with His saints, to reward believers according to their works.
We believe that, after the seven-year tribulation period, Christ will come to earth to occupy the throne of David and establish His messianic kingdom for 1,000 years on the earth. During this time the resurrected saints will reign with Him over Israel and all the nations of the earth. This reign will be preceded by the overthrow of the Antichrist and the False Prophet, and by the removal of Satan from the world.
We believe that after the completion of the millennium, the saved will enter the eternal state of glory with God. The elements of this earth will be dissolved and replaced with a new earth, wherein only righteousness dwells and the heavenly city will come down out of heaven. This new earth will be the eternal dwelling place of the saints, where they will forever enjoy fellowship with God and one another.
